What, Why and When?

Over the last month, there has not been too much writing on this blog.

There are several reasons besides the stress of fighting off “bugs” and just plain ol’ life.

When this blog started, it was an outlet for me.  In the beginning, I did my best to avoid commenting on  politics and my Christian beliefs.

These are two things that have been a part of my personal background.  But Christmas Day, something happened.  I found  political information that reinforced my Christian beliefs.  During this time, there has been much studying, learning and contemplating; this is just the beginning.

At the age of 9, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I went to church twice (at least) every Sunday; there were prayer meetings on Wednesday night as well as GA’s (Girl Ambassadors).  Then there were always bible studies, choir practice, and many other church activities; social and learning.

Maybe it will create a better understanding if you know my father was a preacher.  No, I wasn’t really one of the “wild ones”.  My brothers and I had spies who would report our every action.

Over the years, I began to resent the denomination and all the non-christian rules that man made up.  I have cared less about the church that is in a building dictated by man.  As years passed my faith was always with me but it did not grow.

Through my learning, I have never had an understanding and the security that I have now.

It may sound strange, but with barely a penny to my name, unpaid utilities and our country being in distress, there is more comfort, peace and forgiveness in my heart that ever before.

I cannot tell you what I will or will-not say in the future.

If I write something you don’t like or agee with, that’s okay!  You have a God-given right.

God Bless you…

and my sincere heart-felt wish is that you may find the same comfort, peace and forgiveness in your heart.

Kid #5

It’s another special day in this family.

My little Sweet Pea, my youngest and my only little girl is celebrating the joys of her last year of being a teenager.

No, she doesn’t have antlers.  That’s a big brother behind her…he’s the one being devilish!

If you have kids, I’m sure you have said many many times “they grow up too fast”.  They sure do!

This is my baby, the youngest.  She is my only girl.  I think I’ve said before, she is my “one and only”…

  • the only girl
  • the only blue-eyed child
  • the only one born with red hair
  • …the list goes on

For the 1st year and a half, she wore dresses.  That was Mom’s doing.  Once she discovered pants, there was no way she was going to wear a dress!  (sssssssshhhhhh…don’t tell her, but I do have a picture of her in an evening gown while she was on a cruise.)  When she was in Jr. High, she used to declare that if she ever got married, “I’m NOT wearing a dress!”

Mom misses the days she was about two years old and would tell me she wanted to go to “turrrrrrrch”.

Then at about the same age, with four brothers, she didn’t want to be a “grill”.  She wanted to be a boy.  I think she felt out-numbered.  Who wouldn’t?!

But as she as grown into a lovely young lady, she has found herself and has morphed into a beautiful person…both inside and out!

I love you Sweet Pea!

Happy Birthday!

How to Cause Friction

It all starts with a little device called a DVD player.

It has been over 30 years since I have set up a television and with any additional components.  Since that time 30 years ago, there has always been someone who has cheerfully volunteered to hook up the electronics.  It’s amazing how easily kids can set up electronics!  Boggles the mind!

All of this from two people who don’t even fight, very seldom argue but  will sometimes disagree.

The first ingredient in the mix is two stubborn, determined people.  Mr. B can’t see to read the manual and our communication skills on technical things just don’t coincide.  Not even close!  We can be saying the same thing but “that’s not what I said!”  Who said that?  Both of us…many times.  Now at this point, it would have to be comical for an outsider looking in.

But I have to try to be nice.  You see, I’m the one needing the DVD player.

So, in the end, the DVD player works like it’s supposed to.  I don’t have to plug and unplug “stuff” to make it work.

Now the worst part?

It was the TV’s fault!

I promise

There is something wrong with the connections in the TV.

Just another Sassy Moment!

Love Life!

Create It Yourself

As each day passes, it becomes quite frustrating searching for employment.

After thinking hard for a couple of days, a decision has been made.  It’s time to create my own job.  Statistics have proven that during the times of a tight economy, people have created more “mom and pop” type business than at any other time.

Believe me, I still yearn for and am working toward my dream of a street food vending operation.  Meanwhile, there will be a different path that eventually intersect with “the dream”

Here’s the new plan.

Entrées Only…

the name says it all.

People love to eat!  Of course, it’s not always a meal well-chosen.

With flyers in hand and a weekly menu, my business and services will be to offer Entrées Only.  One different hearty entrée will be provided monday thru friday of each week.  Call ahead one day prior to order your fresh, homemade entrée , it will be ready for you to take home and pop in the oven.  A selection of sizes will be provided for various needs; whether it be for the single person or the large family.

Relax before dinner.  Always a  home cooked meal without the hassle.

I would love to read your thoughts and reactions!  Please comment below.
